For a short school week, it sure was a busy week! Yesterday, TRAILS took a community trip to McDonalds and Berkots. It's nice that the weather is warming up, so we are able to walk different places in town. We had a wonderful breakfast at McDonalds. After breakfast, we headed over to Berkots. While at Berkots, students had a list of items they had to find and write the price of that item. Students also had a list of items they needed to buy for school. Some students had a small list of items to buy for themselves. Everyone did a wonderful job at breakfast, shopping, and walking to/from community!!
Today we made Rice Krispie treat eggs to celebrate Easter. We bought all our supplies yesterday while at Berkots. I showed the kids a video of what we were making...and of course the video made it look so easy! :) Our treats were super sticky, so we had to put some butter on hands to keep the treats from sticking to our hands while shaping the eggs. One student said, "my hands are really shinny!" We put some M&M's inside the eggs, so there is a little treat inside...just like a plastic egg. They were able to take 1 treat to lunch and eat it. The kids really seemed to enjoy themselves!
I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend and Happy Easter!!!
