Surprise!!!
What a wonderful surprise the kids and teachers pulled off today!! Today was my birthday and when I came back from lunch, I was welcomed to a surprise party which included my dad! :) I was so surprised, I started to cry! It was a perfect surprise and a great party! Everyone sang, we enjoyed some yummy treats, and we walked around to share some of our treats with other teachers. And I got the most beautiful flowers from the kids! :) Thank you all for a wonderful birthday!! :)

I hope everyone had a nice spring break. My plans changed and I was not able to go to the beach, I went to CO for my aunt's funeral. I'm hoping to take my spring break trip sometime this summer! :)

Shrek
Today we went to the Shrek at the CCHS. What a show! The students did an AWESOME job! The music, costumes, sets, singing, and acting are just outstanding! Coal City has some very talented students/teachers. If you need something fun to do this weekend, head over to CCHS to see Shrek...you won't be disappointed! :)

I have started the students state testing. My kids take the Illinois Alternative Assessment (IAA). Please make sure the kids have a good breakfast, get plenty of sleep the night before, and come ready to rock and roll!
Don't forget to Spring Forward on Saturday night! :)
June 4, 2014 will be the last day of student attendance and it will be an 11:45 dismissal.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
This week, we have been learning about Dr. Seuss and Read Across America. I love that the kids were able to name so many different Dr. Seuss books! Once activity we did this week was to make an "at" word family craft.
